Meet the Team: Josh Wells

November 20th, 2015

After watching his father take on the real estate market in England throughout all his life, real estate agent Josh Wells decided that he would take his skills to the field.

“I always have been in that environment and lifestyle,” Josh said.

Josh has officially been in real estate for around two and a half years, where he originally got his start doing property management.

“It is great to assist people with their own goals and needs,” Josh said. “It’s great to sell someone’s house so they can finally be closer to family. I also love working with first-time home buyers and watching them take a big step in their lives.”

Josh, who is originally from England, said there is a lot to love about selling real estate in the Kansas City area.11403218_10153276843511141_6536478639834012146_n

“I love how the city is so diverse,” Josh said. “You have huge sports teams, amazing BBQ, jazz, arts and the list goes on. There is so much to do here and the whole community comes together.”

Josh said during his attendance of the Royals’ World Series Parade it was crazy to see that volume of people all cheering on the success of Kansas City.

On top of enjoying the new area, he hopes that his position with the Edie Waters Team will help broaden his experience and opportunities in the field.

“I am most excited about the opportunity to progress and help more clients,” Josh said. “There will be so much knowledge and training to gain from Edie and the other team members that will help me in my career path.”

When Josh is not out taking on the real estate world, he enjoys spending time at home with his wife and dog. The two of them enjoy meeting up with friends and occasionally go out to enjoy dinner and a movie.

20150826_194507He said if he had any advice to give to new agents starting out in the business, it would be to exercise patience.

“You have those slower months when you’re new and it can be tough getting business,” Josh said. “But if you’re patient and work hard to generate business, then it will come. Also it is important to always make sure that your goal is to help the client and not just to make another pay check.”

Josh is a great new addition to the Edie Waters Team and is sure to help those in the Kansas City area accomplish their home buying and selling goals. If you have any questions for Josh or need help during this transitional period in your life, be sure to reach out to him!

Former lawyer dedicates life to helping others get healthy

March 31st, 2015

We’ve all taken the vow. Every time a new year, new week or even a new day rolls around, we pledge to make ourselves better. We promise to become healthier, lose weight, extend our years, all with a little dedication to a healthier lifestyle.

Seven and a half years ago, a former lawyer made that same vow and has been working to better people’s lives ever since. Today, Robin Spooner travels around to businesses and individuals to share her experience with nutritional products in hopes that others can enjoy the health benefits that changed her own life.

Robin works with a company whose main goal is to encourage a healthy lifestyle by putting good nutrition into the body and eliminating toxins and impurities out of the body. She provides plans that cater to the needs of each individual’s body type and health goals.

“When I first tried the products, I lost 12 pounds in 21 days,” Spooner said. “Being a lawyer, that makes me skeptical by nature, so I spent a few months trying to trying to find as much information as I could because the results seemed too good to be true.”

However, despite her early skepticism of the results, Spooner soon found herself completely sold on the idea and ready to make profession out of sharing that information with others.

“The more I researched it, the more I realized that this company is one of integrity,” Spooner said. “It is a reputable company that I wasn’t embarrassed to be associated with.”

The impurities in our food, water and air and quick, unhealthy nutrition decisions contribute to how tired everyone seems to be. With her products, she hopes to open people’s eyes to how much better they could feel and believes that it can make a real impact on their daily lives.

“Many people that I work with tell me that they didn’t know they felt bad until they felt good,” Spooner said. “That’s a really powerful statement when you think about it.”

The products she works with help people with busy lifestyles stay on track, so that being healthy is not only a good choice, it is a convenient and cost effective one.

“Most people don’t have time to prepare truly healthy meals because they have busy families running in 20 different directions,” Spooner said. “If able to do a nutritious meal quickly, people are much more apt to do that than if they were told to create a healthy clean meal. People just don’t have the time.”

Spooner said that she wouldn’t promote a product unless she really believed in it and after seven and a half years she still does. Spooner encourages those people who want to learn more to contact her directly so she can help develop an individual plan that will be of the most benefit.

“This healthy alternative is worth the investment,” Spooner said. “I want people to know that there is hope for a healthy mind and body and it starts with healthy products.”

For more information on how you can improve your health, gain energy and muscle and age in the healthiest way, feel free to contact Spooner at anytime— Phone: 816.591.5762 or by email:

Parkville home takes advantage of gorgeous view and unique details

January 8th, 2015

By Alex Rash

In 2006, when a family from Wisconsin came to the Show-Me State in search of a family-friendly neighborhood and a spacious home with a beautiful view, they found just what they were looking for in the newly-built estate at 8110 Forest Park Drive in Parkville.

Just from the street, the outside view of the home is breathtaking. With the obvious attention to landscaping and the immaculate stone work, the estate radiates in a classic look that will withstand the test of time.

When entering the home, you are welcomed with beautiful hardwood floors and an overall elegant look that draws you in. The current owner said that the small details in the woodwork and the unique features, such as built-in shelving and bookcases in various rooms, is something that stood out from the beginning.

“There is a lot of attention to detail that you don’t see in a lot of new construction anymore,” the owner said.

257124_15The main level is home to a huge, gourmet kitchen with gorgeous cabinetry and pristine, marble countertops. With open access to the eating and living areas, there is a natural flow to the area which encourages the possibility for entertaining guests.

The massive owner’s suite is tucked away on the main level allowing for both privacy and easy access to the rest of the floor. The room has a beautiful elevated ceiling and is connected to a large bathroom with a jetted tub.

The home, including the lower level, takes advantage of natural light and a wonderful view with massive windows throughout the estate.

“My favorite feature is probably the amount of light that comes in,” the owner said. “Especially this time of year, we have a beautiful view of the lake off the back deck.”

Following the stairs into the lower level, the utilization of the one floor plan continues. The main area, with a beautiful, built-in entertainment center and access to the outside, is the perfect place for gatherings or a nice escape for an individual.

Another gem located in the area is a full bar, equipped with attractive woodwork and plenty of storage space.

257124_23“I really like the second level, it is a really nice space to just hang out there by yourself or with other people,” the owner said. “It’s a very functional space for family gatherings or having friends around.”

The lower level is also home to two spacious bedrooms, each with their own personal bathroom.

During their time in the home, the family said it wasn’t only the property that kept them happy, but also the neighborhood atmosphere, making friendships and memories they will take with them for years to come.

“We really enjoyed the neighborhood and the people in it,” the owner said. “It was a very friendly area and a great place to have a family.”

Other amenities of the home include abundant storage space, two fireplaces, a gorgeous deck, accessible from both levels, and a spacious, three-car garage.

While the owners move further west to be closer to their family and begin their retirement, they hope this home will be as great to someone new as it was to them.

“It’s been a really great house to live in,” the owner said. “The people that we met here became our extended family.”

Charming home pairs simple elegance with gorgeous scenery

November 20th, 2014

By Alex Rash

From across the water, sitting amongst the pristine golf grounds and lush greenery of one of *Kansas City’s most esteemed neighborhoods, is an elegant home that sits beside the water. When work brought a Philadelphia native and his wife to the Midwest, it wasn’t long before they found themselves nestled into the luxurious residence at 6603 Royal Court.

“The National is a great place to live,” the owner said. “You make a lot of friends in the neighborhood and there is always something fun happening.”

Walking through the entrance, you are welcomed with beautiful hardwood floors that flow  through the majority of the main level.

ISdsarahy97a161000000000The home adopts an open floor plan that takes advantage of the abundant space available. Large, full-length windows allow natural light to course through the entire level. For evenings and winter, the main seating area comes equipped with a large, gas-powered fireplace, accented by clean woodwork that reiterates the sophisticated feel of the home.

The spacious kitchen area furnishes strong, abundant cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances. Connected to a dining space that has direct access to an outdoor balcony overlooking the water, every dinner comes with a breathtaking view for all of the seasons Missouri offers.

A small hallway, accessible from all major areas of the main level, leads to stunning, white shelving that recedes into the face of the wall. The area provides a space for book-filled shelves or pictures of loved ones to display. The opportunities are endless for a new owner, who can create a space unique to themselves.

Off to the left is the massive owner’s suite, which also houses a private, outdoor balcony overlooking the golf course. The owner’s bath displays gorgeous tile work, spacious twin vanities and bountiful, dark, wooden cabinetry.

The main floor also contains a personal laundry area, an immense dining chamber and a large room just off the main entrance that could act as a personal office or additional bedroom.

The owner said, on top of a perfect view and easy access to the putting green, the maintenance-free living that The National provides was something he couldn’t pass up.

“I travel so much that there is no way that I can go out and mow my lawn every weekend,” he said. “The maintenance-free living greatly increases your leisure time. You have a nice, open space and you don’t have to take care of it.”

1411923297201__kwipfn19_19_Following the staircase to the lower floor, a private bar area, equipped with seating and a built-in wine rack, greets patrons upon arrival. The two-tiered level surges with entertainment opportunities, housing a colossal living area with wall-to-wall windows that allow visitors to take in all of the natural beauty that surrounds the home.

“I think the downstairs recreation room is my favorite,” the owner said. “It has a nice view and all of the entertainment is there along with the bar. It is a fun place to hang out.”

The lower level also consists of two, large bedrooms and access to the lower outdoor patio. The area is given extra character with a unique iron, spiral staircase that leads to the elevated patio connected to the main floor.

A person who appreciates an unmatched view on the water, accompanied with charm and elegance, will fall in love with the home at 6603 Royal Court.

“You don’t need to go to Hawaii or Las Vegas,” the owner said. “You live at a resort.”
